Philip holds a degree in Economics from the University of Victoria in Wellington and is a chartered accountant in public practice. His experience includes roles in the economics and accounting departments of the reserve bank and as finance manager and the practice manager of law firm Chapman Tripp’s Auckland office.

Philip was the convenor of the Institute of Chartered Accountants investment special interest group for many years. He was also a member of the Accounting Standards Working Group.
